Doug Londal is a Senior Advisor of MSD and a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee. He joined MSD as a Partner in 2015 to relaunch its Private Capital Group and served as the Head of Private Capital until 2020. Prior to joining MSD, Doug was the President and COO of New Mountain Capital, LLC, an alternative asset management firm with over $35 billion of assets under management. Prior to joining New Mountain, he spent 14 years at Goldman Sachs & Co., where he was a Managing Director in the Principal Investment Area and, among other positions, served as Co-Head of both the U.S. Merchant Banking business and the U.S. Mezzanine business. He has served on over 20 “for-profit” boards of directors (public and private) in roles including chairman and lead director.
Doug has been active on academic and non-profit boards, including most recently as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the University of Michigan College of LSA, a trustee of Westminster School, a director of TheWay2Life, and a founding board member of Young Life of Lower Westchester. He and his wife are active in philanthropy focused on underprivileged children, faith-based organizations and military veterans.
Doug received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
